Technical Tips
Remember Basic Maintenance for Optimal Performance of Lachat QuikChem Systems
Most systems with many components require preventative maintenance for smooth operation. Similar to your automobile, a Lachat system benefits from an established maintenance routine.
Tips for basic maintenance are included in the QuikChem® User Manual, including replacement of waste lines that get dirty over time. Dirty waste lines can lead to subtle flow issues that may be visible only occasionally, making this problem difficult to diagnose.
Users can typically perform most general maintenance themselves. However, some components, such as injection valves, require regular servicing by Lachat personnel. For Lachat service options, contact your local representative at (800) 247-7613 or sales@lachatinstruments.com for details.

Rapid Lab/Field pH Measurement, Even in Pure Samples
Hach's new IntelliCAL™ pH ultra probe gives the fastest measurement response, including difficult low-ionic strength (pure) samples.
 All IntelliCAL probes interchange fully with a single HQd meter. When switching between parameters, simply plug the probe into the meter. The system automatically recognizes the testing parameter from the probe and recalls the calibration history.

Quick Verification with SpecCheck Standards
 Use SpecCheck Standards to quickly check instrument response on Hach colorimeters and spectrophotometers. SpecCheck Standards consist of one blank and 3 colored standards in round 10-mL sample cells, each set corresponding to a Hach test method. Simply zero the instrument with the blank SpecCheck Cell, and record the concentration of each of the 3 colored standards. Then measure the concentrations periodically to check for any significant changes over time.
