Technical Tips
Reminder: Adjust Instruments for Time Changes

Daylight Saving Time ends November 1. Make sure to adjust any lab instruments on a time cycle, particularly samplers to "fall back" accordingly.

If you own a Sigma Sampler, follow these simple tips:
• Press Menu >
• System Setup >
• Time/Date Setup >
• Set Date/Type by using the arrow keys

When 20,000 cycles have expired, you will see "ALARM: CHANGE TUBE" appear on the screen. Press any key to clear.

Another Tip: If you can run longer than 20,000 cycles on a piece of pump tubing, just reset your cycle limit. One cycle is considered a pre purge, rinse, sample and post purge. |

The Industry's Best Portable Turbidimeter Just Got Better
2100Q Portable Turbidimeter offers a unique combination of advanced features, such as on-screen assisted calibration and verification, simplified data transfer, and measurement innovation for rapidly settling samples, giving you confidence you're getting accurate results every time.
Introducing Freechlor F Reagent
for Accurate Free Chlorine Results
Many facility operators know that elements of their water matrix interfere with traditional free chlorine tests. To improve a plant's ability to optimize and control its disinfection process, Hach announces the new Freechlor F Method and Freechlor F Reagent. This exclusive system provides accurate free chlorine measurement, even in the presence of known interferences like manganese, chloramines and other oxidants. When used in combination with the Monochlor F reagent pillows, this reagent eliminates the need to use thioacetamide or sodium arsenite compensating techniques.
Simplified TKN (s-TKN™)
TKN represents one of the most challenging, dangerous, and labor-intensive tests performed in wastewater plants and also generates hazardous waste that is costly to dispose. For these reasons, many choose to outsource their TKN samples or test infrequently (if at all), resulting in non-optimized process control.

Hach's newly developed s-TKN™ method greatly simplifies the testing requirements. In addition to allowing anyone to test for TKN, the new method is safer for the analyst and does not generate a hazardous waste.
