Simplified Analysis: Three New Parameters Join the TNTPlus™ Family of Chemistries
TNTplus technology offers safer pre-measured chemistries that work exclusively with the Hach DR Family of Spectrophotometers (DR 2800™, DR 3800™, and DR 5000™). The chemistry vials require no preparation or glassware and enable the spectrophotometer to automatically recognize the testing method, eliminating the need to pre-program or create calibration curves. No blank is required, further reducing expense. New TNTplus parameters include:
• Volatile Acids
 50 – 2500 mg/L CH3COOH (Acetic Acid)
Eliminate cumbersome titration or water bath digestion. TNT 872 uses a 10-minute digestion process that takes place in the test vial with the use of a DRB 200 reactor. See Method 10240. • Total Alkalinity
 25 – 400 mg/L CaCO3
Easily check alkalinity for process control using this colorimetric method vs. a time-consuming titration. Simply pipet the reagent and sample into the vial and wait just 5 minutes for the reaction to take place. See Method 10239.
• Simplified TKN (s-TKN™)
 0-16 mg/L N
Simplified TKN takes away the hassle and headache of traditional TKN analyses. With s-TKN you can eliminate the use of hazardous mercury, reduce operating expenses (under $4 per test), minimize training requirements, and conduct analysis in ~1 hour. See Method 10242.
Rethink pH: Measure without Glass, Store Dry
 H-Series Meters and Non-Glass Probes feature dual-technology capabilities for taking readings from ISFET (non-glass) and traditional glass pH probes. Non-glass probes contain a virtually unbreakable sensor for superior performance. They also store dry, eliminating the need for storage solutions. More Lachat Method Breakthroughs
The Lachat team developed over 50 methods in 2009 for the QuikChem® Flow Injection Analysis system, all designed to increase lab productivity, reduce costs through lower reagent consumption and give greener testing options. A few highlights:
